Chandigarh Records 4.8mm Rainfall

After a hot day, thundershowers accompanied by squall and strong winds brought much needed respite to Tricity residents on Tuesday afternoon. Though the respite ended for only 30 to 45 minutes as the skies cleared thereafter. According to Chandigarh met department 2.3mm rainfall was recorded.

Surender Paul, Chandigarh met department said that the skies are expected to clear from Wednesday. “No more rainfall activity is expected in this week, the skies will clear and hot days will return. On Wednesday clouds can be witnessed in the forenoon,” he said.

Weathermen have now stated chance of thundery development on May 13 or 14. People in Chandigarh were seen enjoying the weather. Some complained about the wrongly predicted storms others were ecstatic about the change in weather.

Left stranded outside the offices Harshdeep Kaur said, “I came to the bank for some work. Now I am waiting for the rain to stop so that I can go back home. “

The rain came as an excuse for a break to the office employees. Employees of various offices came out to enjoy the weather. Manisha Sharma who came out of the offices to enjoy the weather in sector 8 said, “The weather is nice but it is funny that the prediction of thunderstorm went wrong. There had been so much panic about it.”

People were spotted making the most of the picturesque weather by clicking selfies and sipping tea/coffee. The rain with any storm came out as a great relief to the city residents.

According to latest updates, it has rained 4.8mm till 5.30pm.
