Genovese sauce is an Italian pesto sauce, which can be made with either basil or meat. It is quite popular in the city of Naples in Italy. It is different from other Italian pesto recipes because of onions being an integral part of this recipe. This version of the genovese sauce is the basil pesto one, with ingredients like basil, onions, garlic, pine nuts, parmesan cheese and olive oil. It is mostly used as a spaghetti sauce or a marinate for poultry and seafood, and the taste is complimented well with white wine. Make this and store or use it right away, your choice.
