After 17 years India got a reason to cheer and smile at International level as India has won the Miss World Crown for 2017. Manushi Chillar an MBBS student from Haryana won the title of India and she has been crowned Miss World 2017. Reita Faria – Miss World 1966
Reita Faria was the first Indian beauty who won an international title since its inception. She was crowned Miss World in the year 1966. She, however, shunned the glamour world later and gave herself to medicinal practice.

Sushmita Sen is the first Indian woman who won Miss Universe title. She was crowned Miss Universe in 1994. Later she joined Bollywood bandwagon and made a successful acting career.

Diana Hayden – Miss World 1997
In 1997 Diana Hayden won the Miss World pageant. She won the Femina Miss India World crown in 1997, and then went on to win the Miss World crown in the same year. She too joined the Hindi film industry but could not replicate the success of her seniors.
Yukta Mookhey – Miss World 1999
Yukta Mookhey became the Miss World in 1999. She was the fourth Indian woman who won the prestigious crown. Yukta also tried her hands in acting but her acting career couldn’t last long.
Lara Dutta – Miss Universe 2000
Lara Dutta is the second Indian woman who won Miss Universe pageant, in 2000, after Sushmita Sen. She made her Hindi film debut in 2003 with ‘Andaaz’. The film was a hit at Box-Office and won a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for Lara Dutta.
Priyanka Chopra – Miss World 2000
Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title in 2000 and now she is the most successful Indian artist who has made her mark in Hollywood also. Apart from winning many Bollywood awards, Priyanka also won laurels on the international circuit.
Manushi Chillar – Miss World 2017
Manushi Chillar, the 20-year-old medical student, became the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World. In addition to Medical student, Chhillar is a trained Indian classical dancer who enjoys painting. She aims to be a cardiac surgeon.
