Panchkula today brought Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda
A police team from Panchkula today brought Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, to the city for an investigation regarding her stay while in hiding.
Sukhdeep Kaur, who was also arrested along with Honeypreet, was part of the investigation as she is the owner of the house which the Haryana police visited and searched for more than an hour.
The police team reached the house at Nayi Basti, Street 2, at 1.05 pm. They entered the house after breaking open the lock of the gate. They stayed there for around one-and-a-half hours.
Sources said the Haryana police seized some documents and made a video and clicked some pictures.
While no official of the Bathinda police accompanied them inside the house, they made security arrangement outside to maintain law and order. The team wrapped up its investigation at 2.50 pm and left the spot without talking to anyone.
Sukhdeep is the wife of Iqbal Singh, a key member of the dera management. Iqbal Singh, a native of Balluana, had left the village a decade ago. The family still has a palatial house there, besides the one in Bathinda.
The local police were informed that the Haryana police would visit both houses. But they returned to Panchkula without going to Balluana, saying that they are done with this part of the investigation, it is learnt.
Earlier, the police team also went to Rampura Sadar police station at 12.15 pm to get some documents regarding the search and for sharing information with the Bathinda administration.
Naveen Singla, SSP, Bathinda, said the Haryana police did not share anything regarding the investigation and only asked for security arrangement.
It is, however, still not confirmed if Honeypreet stayed in Bathinda during her escape. Though the Haryana police have claimed that Honeypreet told them that she was in Bathinda, the local police have denied it.
