CHANDIGARH: Petrol and diesel prices in Chandigarh and Mohali have touched a record high. However, petrol in Panchkula is yet to surpass previous high of Rs 76.77 registered in September 2013. The diesel price has, however, surpassed the previous high.
In Chandigarh, petrol touched a record high of Rs 71.94 per litre against a previous high of Rs 70.72 in March 2017 and diesel was at Rs 64.22 per litre compared to previous high of Rs 60.03 per litre in January 2017.
Since December 2015, the petrol price has seen a gradual hike. Petrol was Rs 61.37 per litre in December 2015 and increased to Rs 66.56 per litre in December 2016. It jumped to Rs 70.72 per litre on March 5, 2017, and came down to Rs 66.58 in December 2017, to rise again to Rs 68.82 in January 2018.
