Schools in Delhi Seeking Student’s Aadhaar Despite of DEO Order

According to the latest news, all the guidelines which are completely related to the various entry level examinations or admission to the governments schools of Delhi for less than 3 year students, the DoE which is Directorate of Education has recently stated that, the Aadhaar number of all the students are now not mandatory during admission. However, one of the schools in the Delhi has stated a notice that the Aadhaar card of both the parent and the child is required while taking admission. This news comes to light when a boy wanted to take admission in nursery class was not allowed to appear in exam due to not having the Aadhaar number. The father of that boy has stated that this is completely against the rule and the guidelines which are issued on dated March 3, 2018. This decision states that the Aadhaar card of both child and the parents is not needed for taking admission in any government school.

There are many schools in our capital which have made the Aadhaar card mandatory while taking admission for the children having age less than 3 or 5 years. But according to the several guidelines which are provided by the DoE, only the identity proof of the parents are taken as the proof for the children and address. The parents are now complaining about this as their children and they are facing problem while taking admission in schools in Delhi. The Directorate of Education has decided to strictly instruct all the schools of Delhi to remove this clause from the admission procedure as only parents proof is required for this procedure.
